Maintenance-free wireless control of turntables for hose production
Turntables are a special case in automated production. Due to their rotational movements, the use of cable connections is virtually impossible. Sliding contacts are an alternative, but they often result in downtime. The obvious solution is therefore control via a wireless network.

Menu
Task
The customer required a CIP Safety connection between rotating parts, which was implemented via a wireless connection. Due to the high maintenance requirements and the customer’s negative experiences with frequent downtime, the use of a slip ring for data transmission was expressly ruled out.
Implementation
R3 Solutions set up a dedicated wireless network for the customer. This enables a low-latency connection with no downtime, allowing the CIP Safety components to establish their connection reliably.
Result
Our network solution, with a low latency of just 30 milliseconds and no downtime, directly results in lower total cost of ownership for the customer. In addition, it simplifies operations, reduces complexity and potential downtime, and thereby increases efficiency for the customer.
