Overview
R3 Solutions does more than just provide you with the right hardware. We achieve maximum performance through our on-site services at the customer’s location. This allows us to respond to individual circumstances and optimize wireless communication for the highest reliability, functional safety, and real-time communication.
A typical project workflow includes the following four steps:
1. Project Assessment
The start of every wireless project. We turn vague requirements into a concrete implementation plan—with clear technology recommendations, a technical assessment, and a realistic rough cost estimate. Together, we analyze relevant requirements, environmental conditions, and existing infrastructure to identify risks early on and define the appropriate wireless architecture.
Current Status:
- Unclear Requirements
- Several potential technologies
- No cost estimate
- Uncertainty about feasibility
- No specific implementation plan
Target state:
- Clear Technology Recommendation
- Feasibility Assessment
- Rough cost estimate
- Next Steps Defined
- Basis for the Project Plan
The duration of a typical assessment depends on the complexity of the application, the technologies used, and the availability of relevant information. The goal is to evaluate technical requirements early on and establish a solid foundation for further planning.
Many assessments can be conducted remotely. However, for complex installations, challenging environmental conditions, or when RF measurements are required, an on-site visit with R3 engineers is recommended.
For the assessment, we need basic information about the planned application. This includes, for example, the layout of the installation, the protocols used, a description of the system architecture, as well as relevant environmental conditions and safety requirements.
Application Analysis
- Layout and Communication Zones
- Environmental Conditions (Temperature, Pressure)
- IP Protection Rating and Shock Factors

2. Network Solution Plan
The blueprint for the wireless project. The network solution plan translates the results of the project assessment into a concrete technical implementation concept—including architecture, network design, hardware recommendations, and integration strategy.
Factors such as wireless coverage, roaming behavior, redundancies, safety requirements, IT security, and future scalability are taken into account. The result is comprehensive technical documentation that serves as the basis for the delivery, integration, and long-term operation of the wireless infrastructure.
Current Status:
- Assessment results are in — technology has been selected
- A rough cost estimate, but no concrete implementation plan yet
- Unresolved Questions Regarding Channel Planning, Number of Devices, and Topology
- No mandatory configuration requirements
Target State:
- Complete Implementation Blueprint
- Topology, channel, and configuration decisions documented
- Test and Validation Plan for Commissioning
- Can be implemented by R3 Solutions or a system integrator
The development of the network solution plan is influenced by various factors that affect the duration of implementation. The basis for its creation is a description of the project requirements that is as precise as possible (see Project Assessment).
